The perforating tool DOUBLE FOUR makes it easier to make an 8-needle perforation.  More importantly, it allows you to create a regular perforation from which you can cut neater slots. On the perforating tool double four, the outer needles are longer than the other needles on the tool.  This allows you to perforate again into a perforation you made earlier.  This results in more consistent perforating work.
