The paintings and sculptures viewed here are works that Phil Wood believes best describe his thinking about art.
Although not formally trained as an artist, painting and sculpting is something that comes very naturally for him.

Since Wood's entry into the professional art world, He has developed a deep appreciation for various mediums and styles and for art itself.
He believes art should be an honest extension of who you are and what you think.

Being "true to your art" was something Wood says he did not understand fully until he began to observe the nature around him and compare his work with reality. |

| Wood believes if someone learns to paint just to do it, they are cheating themselves of the meaning of art. For him, going the extra step to make necessary changes is the difference between artwork and true works of art. |
